We had so much damn fun at Queenstown’s Wild Hearts Wedding Fair (check out those photos and read about the vendors we loved here) that we simply just had to come back to New Zealand a week later and do it all again for the debut Wild Hearts Auckland fair. And boy-oh-boy are we glad we did! We cashed in on our Hotels.com rewards nights and put ourselves up at The Hilton, Auckland for a night as it was a literal stone’s throw away from the historic and beautifully restored Shed 10, home to this year’s fair!
Like Queenstown a week earlier, we made so many new friends at this fair! The clever kids from Two Foxes Styling did a gorgeous job of our stall (just check out the pretty pictures above and below from Light and Type) and we were counting our lucky stars to be on-show next to Louisiana Lucy, a rather epic hire company based out of The Bay Of Plenty, a destination wedding spot on the northern coast of New Zealand’s North Island.
Again, like Queenstown, we had issue 16 available for Auckland brides-to-be but unlike Queenstown (where we ran out of magazines in 45 minutes) we brought enough to (almost) keep up with demand the entire day.
Our stall was in prime position to take in the fashion parade and our mates from The Haven Bridal Boutique (who stock Sally Eagle, Alexandra Grecco and Truvelle Bridal just to name a few) in Auckland were on show. Leave Her Wilder – a new bridesmaids label – was also on parade. We also got to meet the lovely ladies from Feathers and Stone, who hand-cut and hand-dyed (with all natural plant based materials) the most beautiful silk ribbons you ever did see!
Hello May is Australia and New Zealand’s original independant bridal magazine, being on the newsstands over there for five years now – and it was just so lovely to cross the ditch and meet all of the talented vendors we’ve long since admired.
We can not congratulate the Wild Hearts girls enough on a job well done! It’s a beautifully curated event and if you are newly engaged we highly recommend you mark the 2018 dates down in your diary. They have just been announced here.
