As well as wanting to marry Walter, Rochelle had hoped to one day own a parrot. £I had my heart set on getting an alexandrine parrot for myself after the wedding? she explains, unaware at the time that Walter was already one step ahead. £The morning of the wedding he hand delivered [the parrot] whilst I was in the shower and I was left with a note once he had left to look outside and there she was. It was pretty special!
It was an exciting start to an extraordinary day held at The Old Farm in Port Arthur, Tasmania. £? We had heard things about this amazing barn in the Port Arthur region, says Rochelle who spent 14 months sourcing decorations, furniture and a handful of talented vendors including Eric Ronald, Light Noise Films and Off On My Bicycle for their vintage inspired celebration.
£The photographer and videographer, they were awesome and worth every cent, in fact I feel we owe them more for their service. A graphic designer, she also designed their invitations and wedding favour tags. £Our wedding favours for the 90s kids were custom loot bags filled with old school fun lollies.
The sweetest thing about their day however, (besides the cake complete with a Grain and Co topper) was Walter’s reaction when he saw Rochelle in her custom lace gown made by Eva Tomala Couture. £The overall process took around nine months? The overall experience was I must admit a little tiring coming from another state to organise it and fittings etc but it was totally worth it and I wouldn’t have changed a thing.
In fact there’s not a lot Rochelle would change – their chic reception was beautifully styled with succulents, recycled glass jars and rustic furniture and their tequila bar was a huge hit (and gave their guests plenty of confidence on the dance floor). Plus she got a new pet parrot, a wedding ring and her favourite people all under the one roof. Oh yeah, and a husband.
