After 14 years together, Katie and Luke weren’t too fussed on the idea of throwing a big, lavish affair. “We didn’t want anything to be too formal, we wanted a relaxed, fun but romantic feel for the day. Originally I had wanted a picnic, but a fancy barbecue ended up being the perfect fit for the both of us. “, says Katie who set the tone in a playful, ballerina style gown by Anaessia.
“I knew that I was going to have an outdoor wedding, so the first thing that came to mind was a short dress. I thought that it might be a little over the top, but quickly reminded myself that this was my wedding day, nothing could be too over the top!” Photographed by Lilli Waters of I Got You Babe Photography their day held at Pennyroyal Otways Retreat, located just 15 minutes from the Great Ocean Road, had everything one could ask for – exquisite stationery by Santiago Sunbird, live music, loads of delicious food, a boat load of beautiful blooms and last but not least one epic cheese tower.
Katie’s favourite addition however, was their cinematographer Andrew of Bottlebrush Films. “Luke was unconvinced about getting a cinematographer, but in the end I won and I am soooo happy about it. Everything goes so quickly on the day, so it is great to be able to look back and watch the day, especially to listen to the speeches again. Definitely a must!”
