After planning the ultimate proposal which involved a trip to a day spa, lunch in Noosa, a shopping spree and a private candlelit dinner at their favourite restaurant, no one could’ve predicted how Brendon’s plans could’ve taken a turn for the worse (first featured in issue 13). £I made it to the day spa with my best friend, when I started to feel ill… that’s right about where the elaborate plan came to a grinding halt and despite my friend’s best effort, I went home to sleep for the day. Blissfully unaware of the drama I had caused!
Fast forward two weeks later on a date to the drive-in movies where Brendon had a burst of courage and decided he didn’t want to wait any longer. £He popped the question while I stuffed my face with popcorn! says Ellke, who always had her heart set on getting married on her parent’s farm. £Being a place we would go away camping with our friends, or visit together for weekend getaways to clear our heads, the farm holds a special place in both of our hearts. It’s so special to know we can always visit the two fig trees we were married beneath.
Inspired by Tuscany’s beautiful scenery and the Italian family-oriented, food-loving way of life, the couple opted for a day full of olive trees, lanterns and shared table feasting. £We wanted our wedding to have an elegant yet relaxed vibe that ultimately ended in an all-in dance party, explains the bride, who rocked a gorgeous Grace Loves Lace gown.
£My experience at Grace Loves Lace was unlike any bridal store I had visited. A significant step away from the red velvet curtains, make-up stained dresses and pushy sales assistants. After trying on countless dresses it was clear that the Francis Dress was me’. With no zips or buttons, this beauty was the most comfortable dress I’ve ever worn, and if I could, I would bust it out more often.
While the newlyweds state that marriage £guarantees you a permanent sing-along, dance-along and adventure-along partner in crime, they add that they were really glad with two turnouts from their day: first, they took the time to savour the moment and, second, they hired an amazing team of vendors that included industry all-stars like Trent and Jessie Photographers.
£I can honestly say every single vendor went above and beyond our expectations. We truly believe we had the £dream team, a collection of wildly creative, incredibly fun, and extremely professional and beautiful people. Everything we had envisioned was brought to life! I could not possibly sing their praises enough.”
