Got a sense of deja vu? It could be that you’ve seen this couple once before. Following their first wedding, featured here, Rachel and Jonas decided to tie the knot (again) at his hometown in Norway. “Being a second celebration of our wedding, it was a bit different and at first we didn’t know how big of a deal we should make it – but the reason for having it at all was because there are a lot of important people in our lives (not just from Norway, but the UK and Europe as well) who couldn’t come to Australia and we wanted them to feel that they’d been apart of our wedding, so we just went for it”, says Rachel who was glad to have a reason to wear her Eileen Kirby gown again.
Photographed by Trent and Jessie, Rachel and Jonas married at Orange Hill, Risør – the same place Jonas proposed. “The ceremony was very much about the setting. It’s such a gorgeous spot, and the weather couldn’t have been better so we really didn’t need to do a lot. At the reception we carried the travel/international theme that we had had from the Aussie wedding. We brought a couple of decorative items from home, and hunted and gathered around Risør as well.”
What they achieved in a matter of days was truly wonderful, the only hiccup being that Jonas forgot his suit. “Travelling from Norway to Australia takes about 30 hours. We never expected everyone to be able to come to Australia, so we took the wedding to them. We are so glad we did. It exceeded our expectations in every way.”
