Having been together for the past ten years, Danni and Luke decided on a winter wedding as they were ‘eager to get the the fun part!’ (The fun part being a European honeymoon across Morocco and the Amalfi Coast, we wouldn’t mind it!) The upside to a winter celebration, they quickly found, was that many of their vendors were more accessible to them, including the very talented Katie Harmsworth, who captured their day.
The couple decided they wanted a venue that could be a duel space for the ceremony and reception, eventually settling on Gather & Tailor. “We loved the character – a warehouse that we could dress how we liked. It felt more like us’ than a traditional wedding reception venue.”
Danni explains she’s not exactly the type to take pleasure perusing bridal boutiques, however she did know that her ideal dress would be minimal and clean. Her ‘best woman’ took her to David Jones where she tried on a couple of frocks-before she popped on a Camilla and Marc gown that had her grinning ear to ear. “It probably took just over an hour to find the winner. When I put it on, I stood up straighter and couldn’t stop smiling.”
One of the smaller details that got everyone laughing were the personalised vows their celebrant Damon worked on -including a few surprise ‘I do’ questions. Danni mentioned one of them, £’Will you still love Danni even though she constantly interrupts you while you’re speaking and answers for you’. I interrupted Luke to answer ‘he will’.”
When asked what marriage means to them, the Luke said, “Danielle’s dad summed it up perfectly – that I never get to make another decision in my life, ever again…Kidding!” However we think it’s Danni’s response that takes the (wedding) cake, “I have my best friend locked in for life. And that I never have to take the bins out again.”
