It was a particularly bittersweet day for Min and James who, while happily celebrating their newfound family, were also grieving the loss of James’s dad. “We wanted everything to mean something to us”, says Min explaining that during the ceremony, they honoured him by releasing white balloons – a gesture beautifully captured by And A Day Photography.
Sentimentality aside however, their day was all about style. “We both love native flowers, and I love abundance, so we went for an abundant native theme.” Having heard her brief, Willow and Dune created a magical atmosphere with wild, rustic bouquets placed throughout their venue – Circa 1876 Hunter Valley.
“The inside of the venue was a dream, I keep thinking back and can’t help smiling at how perfect it was, everything was perfect, I think the candles really set it off, as well as the wreaths hanging from the beams”, says Min who, like a fish in the sea, clearly belonged in a Leah Da Gloria gown. “It is from Leah Da Gloria, I went in pregnant as I had seen her dresses and loved them, and she was the only person I saw! The dress was custom made, and it was perfect!”
Having a team of awesome vendors including Chic Artistry, was according to Min key in creating their dream day – one which they wish had been caught on camera. “Get a videographer!!!” advises Min. “The day goes by so quickly and you only remember snippets of the day, totally worth it!”
