The lead-up to a wedding is typically filled with a couple of things – getting the rings, dress shopping, DIY-ing the sh*t out of everything and… hospital trips? Luciana and Grange know all about this.
“Though not exactly funny at the time Grange ended up at the hospital twice in the couple of months before the wedding, first for appendicitis and not too long after the operation (once we thought he was in the clear) for an allergic reaction He finally made it to the alter unscathed and we can laugh about it now? I mean what are the chances?”
Despite spending more time than they’d have liked to at the hospital, lucky for Luciana and Grange, choosing their venue was easy-peasy. “A friend suggested we check it out Montsalvat as a venue, and it just so happened that they were having a wedding open day that weekend. It is the only place Grange and I went to visit but once we were there it was a no brainer. The place is so incredibly beautiful,” explains the bride, who adds that their ideal wedding was celebrating with all of their loved ones.
“That was the most important thing. We wanted a relaxed and celebratory ceremony followed by a fun and upbeat cocktail reception. In terms of theme it was all about the atmosphere and music. The vibe we wanted was, bright, happy, & celebratory, with lots of laughing and dancing.” Creating a day that was all their own, Luciana and Grange collaborated and designed their own invites, while they depended on their crew of trusty suppliers (including Sweet By Nature, Letter Lights and Looseleaf) to take care of the rest.
“Wona Bae from Looseleaf Studio did our bouquets, pins, table and cake decorations. She has the most incredibly creative eye and perfectly translated my love of flowers into the most exquisite works of art,” says Luciana, who looked absolutely stunning in her dress from Lover.
“I knew I wanted to wear a white dress, but I didn’t want anything that was too pouffy, overly ‘bridal’, or fussy, so Lover’s White Magik collection was a perfect fit. The lace on the dress is so delicate and beautiful. Initially I was going wear the shorter version but then they brought out their new collection and I fell absolutely in love with the train on their new Orchid dress. I loved that it was short at the front and long at the back?it was a perfect mix of formal and party!!!”
Though the newlyweds admit the whole day was “super special”, they’re happy they’ll be able to relive the entire day thanks to their amazing photographer, Hello May fave Luke Going Photography. “He was an absolute standout of a man, incredibly creative and just so easy going. We felt so comfortable around him and receiving the photos was one of the most exciting moment. He is just so talented.”
