Running with a ‘fairytale’ theme, Alanna and Jonathan’s day was inspired by the 50’s/60’s, rich colours (like deep burgundy) and their lovely location, Abbotsford Convent with amazing eats by Hello May fave Bursaria.
“We both love old buildings and love everything about the Abbotsford Convent. The fact that it is not only beautiful; it has become one of Melbourne’s greatest artistic precincts, with regular exhibitions, live music, studio spaces and markets.”
The bride’s fave detail? Her flowers by the oh so talented Wunderplant! “My bouquet was so incredible, so whimsical and wild. I had found antique burgundy silk ribbon that I asked the florist to incorporate with my bouquet, it felt very special to hold it,” says Alanna, who actually made her own wedding dress!
That’s right folks, this talented lady is the brains behind Alca Jay – she made her own dress and veil as well as the bridesmaid’s beautiful outfits.
Adding to the long list of talent involved in this day, the couple recruited photographer Aleksandar Jason and cinematographer Lovely Day Films to capture their day, as well as featuring some other of our industry faves like Lord Coconut.
