We love anyone brave enough to think outside the square. When local textile artist Anne Leon crossed paths with Pip Rooke and Jane Soutter of Newrybar Downs – one of Byron Bay’s most exquisite wedding venues, an idea came to her – to create a scarf for brides that have been that doesn’t just keep your neck warm in winter. Enter The Wedding Scarf.
Using innovative plant dyeing techniques, Anne is able to transfer your wedding flowers and foliage onto the finest pure silk satin, marino and pashmina fabrics. Up to five scarves or wraps can be made from an average sized wedding bouquet, all you need to do is send it Anne’s way within three days of saying “I do”.
Each bespoke piece is made from all natural fibres, with every single detail being hand crafted – an ecologically sustainable practice that ensures each scarf or wrap is truly one of a kind. Prices start at $390 to $800, depending on size and you can find out more information here.
