Over the past six years, Stephanie, an event stylist and co-owner of Short & Spook and Jack, quite literally a Jack-of-all-trades have built a lovely life together, roaming the world collecting tall tales and spending time with their beloved dogs, Vincent and Lily.
They recently tied the knot on Steph’s family farm in Barooga, New South Wales, Stephanie tells us, “Jack and I are known for hosting. Whether it’s the grand final, a birthday or even a sunny Sunday afternoon. We needed this day to top anything we had ever done before… we wanted it to be a giant celebration and party, something more than just wedding.”
With that in mind Stephanie and her handyman charged photographer Mitch Pohl to capture their day of good times and got to work on the rest. “Everything other than furniture hire, we built or made it. Whether it was the wedding archway, the distressed timber side table, the wooden pallet tables or the magnolia garlands you name it, we did it. I’d have to say Jack’s beer tap is a favourite.”
To honour Jack’s Hungarian heritage they performed a circle dance called the Csûørdûøs and took shots of pûølinka. “It was an amazing way to set the mood for the night”, says Stephanie who hired two white peacock chairs which later became her and Jack’s thrones during the speeches. “Our Best Man Oscar and Maid of Honour Casey performed a surprised song for us! They rewrote the words a the Johny Cash and June Carter song £If I were a carpenter and made the lyrics about Jack and I. Best moment!”
