Proving that money can’t buy you style (or happiness for that matter), bride Meika managed to look drop dead gorgeous without spending a fortune. Finding her frock at a store in The States, she had a friend lengthen and line it (so it was no longer see through!) and her mum sew on dozens of embroidered floral appliquû?s.

£I have always been fascinated by colour and flowers and will always love the dress that I made mine in my own unique way,” she says. £The price and the fact that it was super comfortable and easy to dance the night away in were bonuses too!—

Her creativity (something she perhaps inherited from her Aunty who did the flowers) didn’t end there. Using a print purchased online from Emily Green, she also designed their stationery, signage and a Hitched’ sign made entirely out of pom poms, transforming their reception space (a hidden, backstreet pizza joint) into a brightly-coloured playground.

£We had visited Neighborhood Pizza a couple of times for dinner with our mates. A hidden restaurant, tucked down an alleyway in a converted basement space that sells the most amazing woodfired pizzas, its laid back and home-style atmosphere was always a hit.—

Working alongside wedding stylist Jessica Butcher of The Butcher, The Baker, The Stylist and Creator she also included a grazing table full of fresh farm produce, a confetti station and plenty of pot plants.

Captured by photographer Sarah Jean, the most memorable part of their day however, was the dance floor. £One of our vendors remarked £You know when the dance floor is going off before the sun goes down, it’s a fun wedding—. It was incredible to share so much joy and excitement with our friends and family by getting down on the d-floor.—
