Maddie and Pat had always wanted to travel together, and eventually they made it happen. Trekking for almost four straight months, these lovebirds went all through America and then onto Europe, ending their trip with a proposal in Paris.
“As we entered the park it began to rain so we took shelter in a large cave with a waterfall in it. We had a glass of wine and watched the rain and then I… told her I loved her, got on one knee and asked her to marry me. She said yes. I carried her ring all the way around the world.”
Going for a casual, relaxed and fun vibe by way of a beautiful garden party, Maddie and Pat chose to marry in Pat’s parent’s backyard in the Blue Mountains and to include a huge picnic with fire pits, baskets full of goodies and live music to create a laid-back and joyful ambiance.
“We had live acoustic music from some musician friends during the day which turned the day into a festival vibe. The people that came made the atmosphere and made the day what it was”, says Maddie who looked lovely with hair and makeup by Abbey Love and a eye-popping flower crown by Samambaia Florist.
Thankfully the whole day was caught on camera by David James Photography, including all their DIY projects. The oh-so-talented groom even home brewed most of the beer for the big day… five different kinds! Impressive, eh?
