During their tropical getaway in Hawaii late last year, Daniel took the unsuspecting Demi on a hike through the rainforest along the Na Pali Coast. After reaching their destination and enjoying the sunset and incredible cliff backdrop, Daniel popped the question-and she said YES!
For the pair this holiday was the perfect engagement location, as Daniel originates from Canada, Demi being an Aussie, “Hawaii was a great mid-way location between our two homes to start something new.”
When asked to describe their wedding theme, Demi answered in three words, “natural, beautiful and personal.” During a trip to the US the couple fell in love with the night market scene in a number of cities. This became the backdrop to their wedding day, ensuring that their guests felt relaxed and “could let their hair down.”
After putting off her dress hunting for months, Demi perused a number of bridal stores with her family. When nothing felt quiet right, her maid of honor sent her a shot of an ASOS dress, and the rest was history. “I jumped in and made my FIRST online clothing purchase and it was a winner!”
Surrounded by a bevy of their loved ones, the pair celebrated their wedding on a friend’s property, Demi adding the wedding was nearly crashed by a neighbouring bull, “that’s the risk you take when you have an outdoor wedding on a farm!” Photographer Julian Beattie was there to capture all the happy moments, and we think he did a pretty amazing job!
