After a no-go on his original plan to propose to Bec atop Cradle Mountain in Tasmania, Glenn booked a room at the Park Hyatt in Melbourne under the guise that his sister ‘had a voucher she couldn’t use’. “I packed the ring and my courage (ie. Prosecco) into a bag and off we went. To say I was nervous is a shocking understatement. I have never and will never be as nervous as I was that night.”
Having (obviously!) said yes, the pair set out to plan their day at Emu Bottom in Victoria. “The main element we wanted from our wedding day was a sense of refined effortlessness. A beautiful setting that felt warm and homely, food that was in abundance but still offered an amazing delicious experience and the usual suspect – wine,” says Bec, who admits she’s never been a ‘bridey bride’ kind of girl.
“In fact, I was adamant I would never do it, till I met Glenn (swoon). I didn’t understand how people always said It was the best day of my life’ I want to do it again’ It goes so quickly, make the most of it’, until I actually had my day – It was so magical? I didn’t realise how much I was smiling until I saw the photos.”
The photos, Bec tells us, were taken by the amazing Lilli of I Got You Babe Weddings – who did an A+ job per usual. “I was blown away by our photographer, who made the day so easy. I wanted a fly on the wall experience because, well, i’m an awkward soul?as is Glenn. We were both made to feel super comfortable and the rest of the night was captured beautifully in a perfect capturing every moment’ way.”
