Hey, I’m Ed. The joy and emotion felt day-long is what I most love about weddings. My approach to photography is fairly simple. I want to capture those moments.
I believe what makes a great photographer isn’t just the creative skill of photographing, it’s ultimately about reading people and ensuring they feel comfortable. Your day is about the two of you, not me. I don’t feel the need to direct the ‘perfect’ pose, because, at the end of the day, if I can make you feel comfortable, the photo opportunities naturally arise. It’s those in-between, candid moments — that you may not even be aware I’m capturing — that I think make the best, most honest photos.
My visual style is very much inspired by the qualities and aesthetics of film. The question I get the most from clients after viewing my work is “Are those photos shot on film?” or “How much extra would it be for you to shoot film at my wedding?”. While there is a beauty and discipline to shooting on film, it is very costly, and can be unpredictable. For this reason, I shoot digitally, and have a carefully curated workflow to achieve results that I believe are indistinguishable from film.
If we’re on the same page, please reach out! I’d love to capture your day.
