Simon’s elaborate scheme (and we’re talking REALLY elaborate) to propose to Tricia was a clear indication that their wedding would be amazing. On holiday in Bangkok, Simon put together a day of unexpected twists and tonnes of suspense that included a Presidential Suite, a dinner cruise and a fake ring falling in the water. Nonetheless, the plotting didn’t end there.
“We headed back to our room where Simon sung and played a song on a piano (which was in the room – we’re talking presidential suite here!). But as he hit the last note, it didn’t make a sound! He prompted me to lift the lid of the piano… and there was the ring, taped to the strings.” Impressive planning, huh?
Keeping in mind that Simon was totally against a “filthy hipster wedding”, Tricia worked closely with Jess from The Butcher, The Baker, The Stylist & Creator to create the perfect vibe – an elegant, relaxed setting with a tiny bit of rustic charm thrown in. “I had the most fun with my stylist, Jess Butcher, who thought of absolutely everything,” explains Tricia, who also looked a treat with makeup by Milla Makeup.
This gorgeous wedding, captured by Natasja Kremers, featured a variety of talented vendors, but the bride did heaps of DIY projects, admitting she’s an avid DIY-er in any spare time she gets. Taking on the hefty task of designing all of her own stationary, Tricia did the invites, place cards, menus, and programs, all on her own! “I love making things myself and was so keen to do as much as I could to inject my own crafty touch into the day,” she says.
