What inspired you to start your label? We launched in 2006 after the sudden death of my mother and named the brand in her honour. It’s a tribute to the flow of life, loss and a celebration of new beginnings.
How would you describe your aesthetic? Brand aesthetics are heavily influenced by my eastern European heritage which is translated into exquisite cuts using the highest quality European fabrics. Inspired by family heirlooms, travels and my mum’s legacy, I like to call my signature style ‘luxe bohemian chic’.
What inspires you? I am inspired by many things! Life and energy. My eastern European upbringing and my mothers aesthetic. My adventurers and discoveries around the globe and the people I meet on my travels. women inspire me. The deep friendships that I have created through my designs. Fabrics that I source on a daily basis will always light my internal flame and spark my creative mind, too!
Do you offer custom designs? Every nevenka piece is created in our Melbourne atelier so we can alter the garment (like adding a train or removing sleeves) to custom fit the bride.
What sets you apart from the rest? We are lace lovers in general and it’s a strong part of our aesthetic. We attract a woman that doesn’t follow trends and wants something different to wear on her wedding day to represent who she really is.
Talk to us about pricing? Our pieces vary depending on fabric origin and exclusivity. They start from $379 for a simple shift dress in Japanese rayon to $15,000 for a silk custom made gown.
Do you need an appointment? Yes! You can book an appointment within working hours or lock in a private viewing.
Where are you located? Our flagship store is located in a historical laneway (12 Howey Pl) in Melbourne’s CBD and we are open every day!
