Where do we start with this absolutely incredible wedding?! Is it the unique location, the dress, the flowers, the cake, the photography? – the list goes on……
Together for six years, Jen and Luke did virtually all the planning for their special day themselves, sparking a heck of a lot of creativity. This includes the cake, made by the groom’s mum (how good are those gumtree leaves?!). “We tried to do everything with purpose and focussed on creating a day that everyone could enjoy. We love our family and friends and wanted to be able create a vibe that brought people together and genuinely reflected us,” the couple tells us.
But we kind of love the groom’s favourite moment of the day. “We got to spend a few minutes in the Ryoji Ikeda test pattern light installation that was on at Carriageworks at the time. We had the whole place to ourselves! With all the lights and sounds it literally felt like we were transported to another world. It was this beautiful moment in the day where it felt like nothing else existed except Jen and I. And we just got this time together where nothing else mattered. It was real cool,” Luke tells us.
Then there is that dress! We are head over heels with this beautiful creation by Lover, which you can see more of here and here. And the location? The wonderful Carriageworks has knocked one out of the park yet again with its awe inspiring industrial scenes.
But of course, we could show you none of these amazing details without the beautiful photography work of Dan O’Day, who just so happens to have been the man behind the lens of issue three’s cover, featuring the real wedding of Yvonne and Boruch. Issue three is available for purchase here, with free postage to-boot!
