Hayley and Marc had two things on their mind when planning their wedding – to create a relaxed party vibe and to hire a team of rad vendors. Fortunately Coronation Hall in Somerset, Queensland and an invention known as Instagram allowed them to do both.
“… We wanted a venue where we could put our spin on it to reflect us”, says Hayley. “We found that many wedding venues were crazy expensive (the hall is $100 a day bargain!) or had early curfews/noise constraints… We saw a couple of other wedding venues, but fell in love with the hall and the surrounds straight away.”
Naturally, a marathon DIY effort ensued right up until the day before their nuptials (cakes, signage etc), but like Hayley’s decision to wear a Rue De Seine gown, this pair wouldn’t change a thing. “There was A LOT of little details that went into make it as spectacular as it was. The favours were a standout amongst guests…”
Their vendors – namely their photographer Luke Going, videographer’s Alberto and Yago of A&Y Videography (whose wedding you can see here) and celebrant Erin Woodhall – were also exceptional. “Both our photographer and videographers were amazing I swear they didn’t stop working the whole time ensuring every single moment was captured. We really do have the best documentary of our day!
“Erin Woodhall we only met her a couple of days before the wedding. But she was fabulous and made us feel really comfortable and had such a calming nature to help us get through the ceremony.”
Overall, it was exactly the kind of relaxed affair that after 10 years together, Hayley and Marc had always hoped for and if you’d like to see something a little similar, check out Molly and Sam’s real wedding – another pair who happened upon the same incredible team of vendors.
