We often hear stories of dramatic proposals, but when it comes to Camille and Dan’s tale things were over-the-top in a bad way. While camping in Kakadu, seeking out a good view of the sunset ended with 12 very uncomfortable hours of darkness with no food or water, being ravaged by mosquitoes, and nothing else to do but talk to each other.
“So Dan proposed some where in between slapping mozzies and wondering how close the dingos were. The only romantic bit about it was that we had an incredible canopy of stars,” says Camille, who advocates that if there’s one thing Darwin does well, it’s outdoor dry season events.
In hopes of taking advantage of the incredible weather, Camille and Dan decided on having a huge outdoor party, which, thanks to their awesome team of vendors was a huge success.
“We found a wonderful caterer who had lots of experience with outdoor events and with Jess from White Rabbit doing on the day coordination, it all came off without a hitch.”
Captured by legend Jess Jackson, a DIY driftwood sign, beach bonfire, gorgeous Beija Flor blooms and awesome mango jam wedding favours by Crazy Acres were the go for this “classy tropical boho” wedding, but to Camille, nothing compared to standing on the balcony of the Surf Club and taking it all in.
“It was so surreal and amazing that all our friends and family were together, in Darwin, in such a magical setting. It really was an incredible gathering of all the wonderful friends we’ve collected together over the last 12 years.”
