When we say that roots’ were a huge part of Belle and Scott’s backyard wedding, we aren’t just referring to the vast botanicals provided by Green and Bloom. The role of family was undeniable in this Toowong, Queensland wedding.
£Scott and I both come from families of six and thus family is a huge part of our lives and we wanted them involved as much as possible. Thus many of the decisions surrounding the wedding centred around things that had strong family ties. It was hard to pinpoint an element of the wedding that didn’t involve family says Belle.
Beginning with the venue, Belle’s childhood home, homey details were incorporated into each and every aspect of the big day. She donned her grandmother’s earrings and rode off in a wedding car that belonged to her uncle. Her brother acted as the MC, a cousin played chauffeur, and Belle’s father was dubbed the Official Handyman, crafting much of the DIY decor.
£We wanted the overall theme of our wedding to be a relaxed, happy and chilled one; in a setting filled with bright flowers and fairy lights, with an underlying rustic feel. Though Little Grey Station supplied beautiful walnut seating, photographic evidence – shot by the ever-talented Nicola Lemmon, serves as proof that not a single guest objected to putting on their dancing shoes and joining in on the celebration.
We can only assume that the bride and groom were shocked when some uninvited wedding crashers showed up at 1:30am: police responding to a noise complaint. £Along with getting a warning, the female police officer asked if she could take some photos for ideas for her upcoming wedding!
