Justine & Chloe took their wedding planning duties very seriously, participating in three tastings to tailor their menu, learning calligraphy and personalising each guest’s place setting. And we’ve got to hand it to them, all that hard work paid off. From Justine’s gorgeous gown (purchased from one of our fave boutiques, The Bridal Atelier) to the Festoon lighting and loved up snaps from Keeper Creative, there is plenty of inspo to be gleaned. Scroll down for a good time…

THE INSPO “Us! We wanted the vibe and décor to be intimate and match us! We knew after having a large engagement (approx. 110 guests) we wanted a more intimate wedding, where we could chat, sing, dance, laugh and celebrate with our most favourite humans. We wanted the vibe of Christmas dinner, where everyone sits on one table sharing plates of food, stories, etc. That was our base, then we both picked things we really wanted for the day and built on that. I (Justine) wanted to feel the grass between my toes and dance under the stars and Chloe knew she wanted to look sharp and celebrate as much as possible! The theme evolved into an intimate luxe bohemian love affair under the stars with a dapper finish. We maximised time celebrating by having everything at one venue and having celebration drinks right after our ceremony before our sunset portraits. It really was perfect.”

FAVOURITE DETAILS “Flowers. The brief I gave Annaliese was a “Golden bohemian peach sunset” and it was exactly that and more. The flowers added so much beauty to the venue and made the little details pop. The overall place setting and table décor for guests, too. Guests had to find their spot on 1 of 2 long tables by finding a polaroid of themselves tucked into their napkin, with the menu and a handmade native feather arrangement, which was paired with their own set of vintage crystal glasses which we collected and paired knowing what they like to drink. With the surrounding candles, linen, table décor, it just looked beautiful all together.”

THE DRESS “I explored a few options locally but then I stumbled across the brand Rue De Seine on Instagram and I just knew they were the brand for me. Their style of dresses and overall styling is not only bohemian but unique and they invest in the detail. I flew to Melbourne to go to The Bridal Atelier as they had most of their collection and I wanted my mum to be with me (she lives in QLD) and my bridal party (Bodie who lives in Melbourne). When I tried on the “East Gown”, I absolutely fell in love, but because I was only in Melbourne for 48 hours I was so nervous I was rushing. Erin from the store was sooo lovely, she could tell I was overwhelmed, she said to sleep on it and booked me in to try it the next morning. Mum and I spent the rest of the day going to bridal stores and making sure I explored all options, but I just didn’t feel myself in any of them. When we went back the next day, within a minute of having it on, I knew it was the one! Finding a dress is very overwhelming because you want to get it right, but having my mum, best friend and help from Erin made it a pretty easy and enjoyable experience in the end!”

FAVOURITE MOMENT “The car ride to the ceremony and the ceremony! The moment I knew the limo arrived at our house, I got really nervous with excitement and so did my mum! We walked straight out the door, down our alleyway and were just about to get in the limo when mum said “I’m so nervous, I have to wee, I have to go back”. I laughed and we both went back inside only to find I had left my bouquet behind!! If it wasn’t for mum’s nervous bladder I wouldn’t have had a bouquet!”

STANDOUT VENDORS Annaliese [Signature Floral Design] went above and beyond, from the first time we met with her. She sat with us for two hours and helped us plan the day and gave us vendor recommendations and tips of things to do, she helped with styling, suggested and ordered the linen, and pretty much took over as events manager on the day to ensure everything was perfect. She is amazingly talented and any couple would be lucky to have her. Hannah, Keeper Creative, was just a total badass babe. She worked out the running order for the day and made us feel so damn comfortable and natural in front of the camera and also made the precious hour of alone time sooo much fun (our cheeks ached from smiling!)
