You couldn’t get much more laid-back than Bronte and Adrian, guys. Together about five or six years, “we don’t remember the exact date we decided to start seeing each other, it just kind of happened naturally,” says Bronte. There was also no official proposal. “As a couple I think we are quite un-traditional. We had always spoken about marriage and knew that we wanted to spend the rest of our lives together, so, one day we just decided to email the resort and ask what dates were available and that was it – decision made!”

A treat for our eyes, there was fire dancers, fruit as flowers, outfit changes on the regular and it was all organised quicker than you can say “Bula” – sorted over email in three months flat! Scroll for all the destination wedding inspo shot by Peachylini

THE VENUE “As soon as we set foot in the Marriott at Momi Bay, we both knew that when we decided to get married, this would be the place. It is honestly like walking into paradise. The staff (like all Fijians) were absolutely amazing – they are so kind and happy, so humble and grateful. It just has the perfect combination of a relaxed vibe, but yet felt modern at the same time.”

THE INSPO “I would say moody/vintage tropical. I think most importantly we just wanted a relaxed vibe and day that we could share with our family and friends. We wanted the day to feel very tropical and calm and maybe a bit luscious when it came to the florals and styling. I love displaying fruit and vegetables at home, so this was a must. I think they add so much character to floral displays.”

FAVE DEETS “I loved the pineapple invitations. I think maybe pineapples were subconsciously a part of the theme now that I think about it – pineapple invitations, wedding song named Pineapple Skies, pineapples on the wedding cake, pineapples in the styling, pineapple juice and Bounty. I purchased a heap of vintage Fijian stamps from various eBay sellers that I used on the envelopes. We sealed each envelope with wax and a stamp and I spent a whole day looking at fabric stores to find a nice raw silk I could rip and use as ribbons to tie around the invitation set. We also had a large ‘canoe’ at the ceremony filled with ice and fresh coconuts. We loved the idea of this and we loved it even more in person. It was also nice and refreshing for the guests, because it is always hot in Fiji!”

STANDOUT VENDOR “We cannot speak highly enough of our photographer Rose of Peachylini. She just completely got us. Rose was so kind and patient, extremely professional and knowledgeable, as well as personable and she produced brilliant photography.”

WE’RE GLAD WE… “Had the wedding in Fiji. We wanted to have the wedding there as Adrian and his family are from Fiji, so it meant something special to us and especially to his family. It was also really nice that so many of our guests made a mini holiday out of it and immersed themselves in the culture.”

A WORD OF ADVICE “Don’t worry about perfection. Relax, try not to stress. At the end of the day you remember the smiles, laughs and tears with your family and friends… and sweat when you have it in a beautiful, sticky, tropical setting.”
