Event stylist Emma of This Space, married her acoustic engineer Pez, after a proposal that involved skydiving and wedding prep with so much DIY that it took up the time of watching all 493 episodes of All Saints… Now that is some serious binge watching, folks! Keep reading for all of those fun facts and more, and don’t miss the stunning pics by photographer, Dean Snushall

THE PROPOSAL “It was awesome, Pez had bought me a sky diving voucher for my birthday and when I jumped out of the plane, he was waiting at the bottom with a massive sign asking me to marry him.”

THE VENUE “As I work in weddings I had been following Waldara on Instagram for ages and drooling over the venue. It ticked the boxes in terms of having the ceremony and reception in the same venue, having a wet weather ceremony option and accommodation on site. Lorraine and Colin (who run the place) are incredible and were so lovely and warm from the very first time we met them. Nothing was too much.”

LITTLE LOL “I hand stitched the wedding napkins (for favours) over the course of three to four months, all while watching the entire 12 seasons of All Saints, comprised of 493 episodes. This amounts to approximately 370 hours, or 15 days spent hand stitching– Pez never wants to hear the opening sequence again!”

THE DRESS “I tried on what felt like every single dress in Sydney. Then I went to Perth and found ‘the one’ there, by Rue De Seine. It was super challenging- trying dresses on in the wrong size and then spending a huge amount of money and ordering it in the correct size is a bit scary! The fit when I did receive it, meant the dress sat completely differently to how I had imagined, so I ended up having a new bodice made in a different style. In the end, I was really happy that I had something unique. Through the White Door and The Emergency Button (a Sydney alterations company) were both amazing at helping me get exactly what I wanted.”

REFERENCES “I’m so lucky to work in the events industry, so knew a lot of our suppliers. Tonia of Blumette is our preferred florist at This Space, so I work with her weekly and couldn’t have imagined anyone else doing our flowers. I have been lucky enough to have worked with The Caterer Sydney in the past, so knew they did amazing food. And the venue recommended the band. I didn’t know our photographer Dean Snushall, however Pez’ sister highly recommended him, which was great!”

STANDOUT VENDORSThe Caterer Sydney and Waldara were incredible, nothing was too much for them and they worked really well together on the day. The venue manager was so attentive from the first site visit- she even organised for her daughter’s friend to babysit!”
