Erin, owner of The Bridal Atelier, whom we had the pleasure of featuring in issue two of Hello May, on sale here, tells us “for me winter conjures up visions of moody grey skies, walks rugged up with coats and fluffy scarves, and nights in with red wine! We incorporated these themes with the textured grey colour palette, the dark wine coloured olives and an abundance of luxurious fabric. The windswept hair and dark but elegant makeup Kate Radford used finished the look.
Nikole adds “It’s not often we see greys and blacks as part of wedding colour inspiration, but I loved the idea of creating a monotone palette. We built a set at my studio in Geelong and Laura from Weddings of Desire sourced the beautiful props for the shoot, including the table setting and bedroom scenes. Danielle from Moss Industry weddings created the beautiful organic hanging feature that hung over the table and the bouquets and florals features on the table”
We here at Hello May are loving this fresh take on reception styling, we are particularly head over heels in love with the oh-so-romantic-but-not-so-girly-the-groom-won’t-approve stationery by our friends at Cake Ink. The rough edges, muted colour palette and elegant typography are sure to suit many a wedding theme from the intimate backyard dinner to a more elaborate occasion. Throw in those Samantha Wills accessories and a gorgeous Amanda Garrett gown (bottom image) and you’ve got yourself quite the elegant wedding.
