There are a lot of things we love about New Zealand… Raglan, Made From Scratch, the fact that everyone has the right to marry, Hobbits… and now we can add designer Michele Corty and her rather smashing label Ru De Seine to the list.
Talented New Zealand wedding photographer Dannelle Bohane recently teamed up with hair and makeup artist Natalie Dent to shoot Ru De Seine’s vintage collection and we can’t rave enough about the results! Natalie, using MAC Cosmetics, created a soft and ethereal look which was quite a refreshing departure from the bronzed skin and strong lip colour we have been seeing a lot of during the 2012/2013 wedding season. We love the nude lips and minimal eye makeup… hair up, hair down, veil or no veil, it just works. Of course it’s hard to go wrong with dresses like these!
Impressing our socks off with her first bridal collection, Michele has artfully infused her international ready-to-wear background (she cut her teeth in New York and Paris) into the world of weddings. She has collaborated with and designed for Gwyneth Paltrow and has had collections worn by Rihanna, Drew Barrymore, and Florence Welch, just to name a few.
During her 5 years living in the Parisian Quartier of St. Germain des Pres, and celebrating her own wedding on Rue De Seine, the designer found not only inspiration but also the name for her brand. The neighbourhood is famous for being the meeting place for Parisian artists/celebrities and is the vision behind Rue De Seine’s bohemian chic style.
Big ups to Michele, Dannelle and the lovely Natalie for sharing these most excellent images with us! Now if you will excuse us we have some Pinning to do!
