Sure, the French may be good at locking lips but it’s the Americans, ambitious since birth, that really knock it out of the park when it comes to bridal bits. Let us take you back to May 2013, when we first introduced you to Twigs & Honey – a design studio based in Portland, Oregon renowned for its attention to detail and fine craftsmanship. Since then, this label has survived those awkward, pre-pubescent years and come out the other side – bigger, better and more beautiful than ever.
To celebrate all of their hard work, owner and designer Myra Callan recently teamed up with legendary photographer Elizabeth Messina, hair and makeup artist Christina Burns and Forage Florals to showcase her 2015 collection alongside the launch of their brand new website. “We felt like we needed to freshen it up, make it mobile device friendly and prettier all around”, says Myra who since 2008 has continued to find ways to reinvent the Twigs & Honey brand.
From beautiful hair adornments, bridal veils, lingerie and more, each of her carefully considered designs are made using quality materials including fine silks, French lace, feathers, Swarvoski crystals and freshwater pearls. Some of our favourites (if you’re going to make us choose) from this romantic, whimsical and extraordinarily feminine collection include the Agate gown, Freshwater Pearl Baby Breath headpiece and the Birdcage veil.
You can shop the entire collection online or pop your head into The Babushka Ballerina (Sydney and Brisbane) who stock a carefully curated selection of Twigs & Honey veils, hair pieces, sashes and more.
