If the name Tutu Du Monde rings a bell, it means you’ve either A) been a loyal follower of Hello May for some time (we first featured them in issue four) or B) that you’ve caught wind of a very special brand that, if you don’t already have kids, will make you incredibly clucky (don’t say we didn’t warn you).
An online store specialising in occasion wear for little girls, designer Andrea Rembeck seeks to capture the spirit, innocence and freedom of childhood in each of her designs and her latest campaign is no exception.
“When my daughter Alyna was born in 2005… I discovered that little girls loved to lose themselves in make-believe worlds and, more than anything, cherished beautiful tutus. When Alyna asked me for one, I embarked on a quest to find one that was not mass-produced, hot pink and polyester. I couldn’t and decided there was a gap in the market…” says Andrea.
Reminiscent of ethereal French ballet costumes, all Tutu Du Monde garments are of the highest quality, hand-crafted and hand-dyed with an old-world feel… dusty pastels, silk ties, sparkly sequins, crystal beads and wisps of feathers applied to the softest natural cotton, finest tulle and silk organza. Tutu dresses are priced between $139 – $279. Skirts are around $79 and tops around $65.
