Believe it or not, weddings don’t have to be a stressful event. A common theme that seems to present itself to us time and time again, is one of simplicity. In issue six we brought you a styled shoot titled Back to Basics and today we bring you another inspiring collection of images by Maria Lamb plus a bunch of other talented vendors all the way from Portland, Oregon who have chosen to “embrace simplicity”.

Mona Abosaid from Bird & Honey Events tells us, “Time and time again, the most transparent vision is often times the most simple. Nowadays, a lot of weddings are extremely colourful with ornate decorations (which I do love) however, I decided  I wanted to take a more minimalist approach, using a muted colour palette of whites, ivories, subtle hints of blue and burgundy with an abundance of greenery.”

Using mismatched chairs and a custom built table from Something Borrowed PDX, exquisite stationery by Graceline and loose sculptural floral designs by Anna Mara Flowers Mona and her team created a beautiful, organic tablescape that needed little more than a cake and a couple. Seri Lopez from Serious Cake put up her hand to create a stunning, white three-tier cake while Adam Williams and Aja Wald of Option Model Management happily showcased the work of hair and makeup artist Aleah Pusley. Wearing a whimsical Claire Pettibone design available through Ania Bridal, Aja added a feminine touch to the editorials minimalist sentiment.
