Wedding dress shopping is exciting…right? Well, if you’re a little bohemian, a little crazy, and the crew your shopping with are quite eccentric, your choices have definitely narrowed. “The elegant, serene stores with gowns of multi-layered tulle and bedazzled jewels weren’t marrying with anything I had in mind,” explains Ruby, who ordered three Spell Designs pieces which dressmaker Rose McCredie combined into one gorgeous outfit.
Envisioning a “Wedding Festival”, Ruby and Alex’s day was far from traditional. Held at Greenfield Farm Estate, the pair included some ultra-fun elements into their day – catering by Mexicano, famous Gelato Messina and coffee (glorious coffee!) from The Little Hopper.
“The Little Hopper was an absolute standout. The most ferociously fussy coffee buff said it was the BEST coffee they have ever had and the positive comments continued all night! The guys were chilled, fun, generous and professional. They enjoyed the atmosphere and guests as much as we did!”
With photos by Alex Carlyle Photography, Ruby and Alex’s ‘wedstival’ also featured Persian rugs, floor cushions, Moroccan lanterns and flowers galore, thanks to Flora By Rachel Allan and Honeysuckle Florist, who helped the couple pull off one epic celebration.
As for the newlyweds? Now experts in the field of wedding planning, Ruby and Alex share this bit of advice: “We’re so glad we worked something personal into every aspect of the day. It honestly paid off and made it such a fun day for everyone! The months and months of planning seriously made the night so worth it!”
