In love not only with each other but all things old, Rachel and Timothy’s decision to create a vintage inspired wedding was an easy one. £We both share a love of old things and places with history and character. I had always dreamed of having a vintage inspired wedding (with flowers in my hair), says Rachel who discovered early on that Anna Campbell would be the one to complete her vision.
£I had found Anna Campbell gowns in my research online and loved them! From there I found a little bridal store in Austinmer, New South Wales that stocked her gowns. I fell in love with the dress (one of my bridesmaids cried). I brought my mother to see it another time (she also cried), and then we ordered it!
With plenty more decisions ahead (albeit with far fewer tears), Rachel and Tim continued on their quest to create an epic wedding at Briars Country Lodge in Bowral and in just a matter of months they’d come to an agreement on almost everything. Wooden stationery, bright blooms, a vintage dark yellow Ford, a Lego cake topper and most importantly DIY jam wedding favours would all be making an appearance on the day.
£The jams? Rachel says as though it could be a long story. £This was a combination of fruit from my Dad’s plum tree and some I had bought from the fruit shop I was then working at. My mother and I spent one Saturday cutting up plums and making over 100 little jars of jam. It was fun, but admittedly I didn’t want to see any more jam for a little while.
Their photos on the other hand, taken by The Evoke Company, are something she can’t wait to revisit time and time again. £We went to an abandoned brewery for photos after the ceremony, where our graffiti photos were taken. It was a lot of fun, and made some pretty unique photos which we love, says Rachel, totally chuffed with what her and her partner in crime were able to pull off!
