Designer Cathleen Jia and photographer Scott Surplice are two people who in our books, can do no wrong. Meaning Liani and Dan were safe from the start. But then they went and found Sylvan Glen – a romantic country estate in the Southern Highlands of New South Wales and their day immediately became something from out of this world. Despite the rain, it was the perfect place to accommodate all their travelling guests and for Scott to create these enchanted images.
Considering it took Dan three attempts to propose, they did well to make the call. Liani tells us, “Let me just start with saying Dan’s a bit of a procrastinator. So when it came to proposing it took him three attempts. Third time lucky they say, hey?”
Bring a mother and an organiser herself, Liani knew straight away that her Cathleen Jia headpiece would beautifully compliment her Maggie Sottero gown. At least until it was time to change into her equally stunning dress from Virgos Lounge. One thing they could both easily decide on however was their cake by Simple Ingredients.”Our families would tell you it’s a match made in heaven!” says Liani “Not because of our love for one another but our love for all things sweet!”
Of their day, Liani says “we are both big family people, we live in Melbourne however our family is spread out all over Australia. We didn’t want guests just travelling somewhere for a wedding day. We wanted all our loved ones under one roof for a whole weekend. A meshing of two families, our closest of friends, and all the love in the world!”.
