Leah and Frankie have quite the love story. Not the kind that makes you nauseous, don’t worry – the good kind that gives you the warm and fuzzies! “We have been together for 4 years. When we met I was going on an overseas trip with no return date in mind, and three months in Frankie booked a flight over to Sri Lanka and we spent a month travelling and laughing and have been continuing to do that ever since!”

Only taking just under a year to plan their day, this fun-loving pair opted for a short engagement which “kicked them into gear”. Thankfully Leah and Frankie knew the perfect venue from jump street.

“We love going to breakfast at The Boathouse Palm Beach and we always said it would be an amazing venue. Their style is so relaxed and balanced and there are always an abundance of flowers. We just wanted everything to be relaxed and fun! The Boathouse was perfect for that as we were able to have a canapĂ»? style (So much yummy food) which meant everyone was free to roam around and enjoy themselves,” says the bride, who looked beautiful in her Rue De Seine gown from The Bridal Atelier in Double Bay.

“I found dress shopping quite hard! I didn’t have any idea what I was after so it took a bit of research. When i tried on the dress i knew instantly i could stop searching-it was such a relief! The dress has all of these little tassels and i couldn’t stop walking around shimmying!”

Captured by Mitch Pohl, Leah and Frankie’s day included many fave memories. The best of the bunch? “Exchanging our vows for sure! We didn’t think that would be our favourite moment before the day but it hands down was. It was so special making that commitment in front of all our special people,” the lovebirds tell us, admitting that they decided against a first dance and recessional.

“Qe didn’t want to stick to the traditional runnings of a wedding day and wanted things to just feel like a beautiful party. We walked down the aisle to Rusted Root’s ‘Send Me on My Way’. We always dance around the house when we play that song and although it is a bit more upbeat and playful than the usual aisle song, we loved it because it was more us.”

As far as words of wisdom, this lovely pair had some awesome advice for those soon getting hitched: “Do what is best and right for you and don’t let other people’s opinions get in your way! And when you are getting bogged down in the little details, know that once it ends you will wish you could do it all over again and savour it!”
