As an interior designer, there was no denying that Katie (and her husband-to-be Hamish) would pull together a totally gorgeous wedding. Thanks to an amazing team of suppliers (like photographer Danelle Bohane, florist Lushka and some delicious eats from Pipi Pizza Truck) this celebration was truly second to none.
“I loved the floral masterpiece that acted as the backdrop for the ceremony. As soon as the car pulled around and I saw it installed for the first time my jaw literally dropped, then came the tears! Hamish loved watching the Pipi Pizza be distributed to all of our guests and the way in which everyone interacted as they shared it around,” explains Katie, who wanted the day to feel like ‘them’.
“We went for a refined less is more approach, minimal colour enabling the floral masterpieces to do the talking! We wanted to create a very social vibe but have a strong element of visual sophistication. We had a vision in our mind of how we wanted it to look and the vendors we selected enabled us to pull it off,” she tells us, adding that it’s imperative to ‘stick to your guns no matter what’.
“Keep your cards to your chest means less chance for opposing opinions. The best advise we got from a close friend was that the best weddings they had been to were the ones that reflected the couples the most, so stay true to that!”
