Aside from the immense love that poured throughout Georgia and Kate’s wedding day, it was the little details that made the day so memorable for them and their 130 guests at Terrara House Estate on the New South Wales coast.
Georgia describes, “When guests arrived, they were greeted with fresh cucumber sandwiches and homemade lemonade. All guests also received their own serving tongs and dinner included platters on platters of food on the table for our guests to help themselves. Guests received hot towels between meals and at 9pm, soft bread rolls with glazed ham was served alongside a vintage chocolate bar instead of dessert for in between dance breaks. The detail was what made our wedding unique and memorable.”
Photographer Kelly Tunney, who was awarded ‘2015 AIPP Australian Wedding Photographer of the Year’ was chosen by the pair to capture their meticulously planned day. Georgia says, “We wanted a great photographer and in addition we got a great friend. There are no words to describe the gift that we were given in her photos. From the moment we skyped with her we knew she was ‘the one’. Her style of photography was exactly what we were after – capturing the moments, nothing staged and ultimately someone we would have an absolute ball with throughout the process.”
Both brides were dressed ever-so-elegantly in Georgia Young Couture. Their fitting experience was second-to-none and made even more fun as they flew from Sydney to the Melbourne showroom to be fitted as the wedding plans ramped up. “Georgia Young’s style of dresses are modern and unique and that is what initially attracted us to her. Once we met her in person, she was one of the loveliest and most genuine people we had ever met and walked out of her studio on that first day absolutely buzzing because we knew she was the right person for the job. Having that ‘click’ with our designer was so important to us as they played such a crucial role in our day.”
While DIY wasn’t exactly the couple’s thing, they made sure ‘their touch’ was added to everything. From a copper tag seating plan from Ashdown & Bee, to CD wedding favours compiled by the couple with their favourite tunes, to a personally-sourced and then engraved big slab of wood for their guest book, no stone was left unturned.
But ultimately, their attending nearest and dearest was what was most important to the couple. “Our friends and family have played such a pivotal role in our relationship and we wanted the day to be as much about them as it was us. With that in mind, our main goal was to make sure we threw an unforgettable party, where every detail was thought of and most importantly reflective of who we are.” By the looks of it… mission accomplished!
