While out and about trying to find spots to go fly-fishing, Sam stumbled upon Brookfield Hall – a charming, intimate venue located just 20 minutes outside of Brisbane. It was the perfect space for their relaxed, vintage inspired affair and, oddly enough, it was also where Sam’s Grandmother went to dances when she was young.
“We just wanted it to be a big party with good food and booze and a dance floor,” explain Jo and Sam who hired furniture from Lovestruck Weddings and celebrant Paul Voge to kick things off. Almost everything else however, was DIY, the photo booth, flowers, fairy lights, custom stamp, confetti, wine, beer, their three month old baby Beatrice – the lot.
It was a joyful day, all of which was captured by legendary photographer Jess Jackson, of who Jo says, “I hardly remember seeing her on the day and yet she captured everything – going through the photos was like experiencing the day again – so many great moments.”
