This amazing full-sleeved lace gown was designed for Gene Tierney by her husband-to-be Oleg Cassini, though a speedy elopement meant it was never made and worn. Five years later, this beauty saw the light of day for Gene’s role in the movie Razor’s Edge, for which Oleg designed her costumes. The pair later split, before reconciling in 1948 and finally splitting again in 1952. In the meantime had two children together, and following their final split remained friends for the rest of their lives.
This absolute stunner of a vintage frock is just as relevant today as it ever was – we’re a little in love – and is total proof of just how awesome minimal skin on show can look… so perfect for a winter wedding. For a modern day version that’s very similar indeed, check out this post.
