Weddings are anybody’s business – especially when we’re lucky enough to live in a time and place where anything goes. Playing on the idea that a backyard wedding and a gown somewhat reminiscent of the one your grandma wore can be just as stylish as a celebrity affair, we teamed up with photographer Ben Sowry, fashion editor Alexandra Thompson, stylist Georgia Kelly and hair and makeup artist Nikita Lauren to shoot this nostalgic editorial featured in issue nine of Hello May.

Showcasing some of our favourite designers including Candice Lee Bridal, Grace Loves Lace, Lost in Paris, Amanda Garrett via The Babushka Ballerina, Houghton via The Bridal Atelier, Claire Pettibone via Hope and Page and Rue De Seine (whose new collection you can check out here) we celebrated the comeback of 70s inspired designs and the use of fine French lace and white crochet.

If you missed out on a copy of issue nine and wish to see some new offerings from these much loved labels, be sure to snatch up a copy of issue ten quick sticks. It’s available at selected newsagents nationally or online via Mag Nation. You can also pick up a copy at One Fine Day happening in Sydney Sep 12 – 13. For all the details click here.
