With just a short four month long engagement to plan their coastal wedding, Hayley and Russell admit they pulled it together in a pinch, and boy did they! “As you can imagine planning a wedding in another state from your bridal party and a destination wedding on top of that was very stressful!”
Nevertheless, the duo managed to put together a rather stunning, laid back affair, with a talented crew of vendors and helpful family members behind them. Hayley mentioned a stand out was of course their fantastic photographer, Zoe Morley “she stayed longer than required and her work and personality is beautiful! So many gorgeous memories that I will treasure forever.”
When it came to the dress, Hayley admits she never needed look far, nor did she ever try another on. “The dress was my mother wedding dress. She wore it on the 22nd of April, 1983 when she marriedmy father. It was made by her mother who is no longer with us,” the bride adding that the only alteration was taking off the sleeves, which turned the vintage gown into a boho, gypsy dream!
As far as DIY’s went, they couple enlisted the help of Hayley’s mum, who was responsible for the bunting, bridesmaids kimonos and the ‘cheese’ cake; whilst the bride’s father put together the gorgeous wedding arch, which Hayley mentions was one of her favourite details of the day due to the combined effort from her family.
