While we’re used to some crazy/silly/awesome proposal stories, Emma and Chris got engaged, not once, but MULTIPLE times. “We sort of ended up having three proposals. Turns out we really like this whole proposal business!” Third time’s a charm, right?

Keeping in mind that both their loved ones would have to make quite a trek for their wedding at Errol Park State in Scotland. (Emma’s family is from Finland and Chris’s family is from Ireland), Emma and Chris opted for an 18 month long engagement, which gave them plenty of time for heaps of DIY projects.

“From the very beginning we knew we were going to get our hands dirty as we are both quite crafty and have a strong sense of what we like visually. We ended up making and designing our invitations, place cards, menus, ceremony programs, signage, petal boxes, table plan, baking desserts, sewing lace doily bunting for the ceremony and I even made my own veil (whilst binge watching Lost – all six seasons),” explains Emma, whose favourite detail from the day was most definitely the blooms by Pyrus Flowers.

“They were everything I had envisioned, yet so much more and I could not stop smiling seeing myself in the mirror – the flowers truly made me feel like a beautiful bride,” she tells us, though she admits it’s hard to put into words how stunningly the entire day turned out.

Thankfully Caro Weiss Photography was there. “Her photographs really bring the wedding and all the emotions back to life every time we look at them. She captured all the little details and moments we didn’t even notice because we were too busy concentrating on each other!”
