As an event stylist, Elspeth was all over who, what, where, when and how they would decorate their day. She tells us, “we wanted our day to be bright, bold and full of life. I’m fascinated by colour and lots of it!”
To tie in with her gorgeous bespoke Suzanne Harward gown and Alexander McQueen heels, Elspeth – with help from the good folk at Prunella botanical styling – placed Uashmama gold paper bags for the floral centrepieces on each table and had her “unofficial bridesman” make the men’s gold bow ties.
Their day however, captured oh so beautifully by Hello May fave I Got You Babe photography, wasn’t just about decorations. For both Elspeth and Nick, family has always mattered the most. Elspeth tells us, “my maternal grandfather was a Prisoner of War in WWII and I wore the ring he purchased in Egypt, prior to being taken prisoner in Indonesia. This was very special for me as Pa is no longer with us so a little piece of him was with me throughout the day. Seeing our 94 and 95-year-old Grandmothers together for the first time, and at our wedding, was also amazing.”
At Chateau Dore, a gorgeous historic winery in Bendigo, Victoria the Baker Boys Band kept guests dancing throughout the night – or at least those who could still stand. “One of the bridesmaids Dads was practicing his amazing dance moves… but broke it down a little too hard and took quite a tumble!” says Nick. “We found out the next day that he was taken to hospital and had broken his knee.”
