Photography has always played a big part in Ali and Gareth’s relationship. Ali owns a wedding photography business and Gareth, despite being a graphic designer by day was shooting a gig at a Perth venue known as the Rocket Room when he and Ali first met.

It then only made sense to celebrate their engagement with a shoot alongside photographer Alan McDonald, who was more than happy to oblige. Based in Western Australia his candid approach and passion for photography was exactly what this pair were after.

Happy to let the day naturally unfold, Alan tells us, “Before a stroll through the city of Perth we had organised to meet up for tea and coffee at the beautiful Heritage Brasserie on St Georges Terrace. The music, architecture and the even the teapot gave that restful feeling of yesteryear and was the perfect backdrop for Ali and Gareth’s engagement shoot.”

Playing with natural shades of light and dark, Alan created some very special images for this pair to enjoy long after their wedding day has come and gone, which consequently, we will be sharing with you on the blog later this week. Watch this space.
