When Alana and Chris went to lunch one day, she thought they were meeting with his clients. Little did she know he had a surprise up his sleeve, bringing her to the place where they had their first date and out to a fancy lunch. You can guess what happened from there! (Hint: they later returned home to a surprise engagement party).
Held at Yandina Station on the Sunshine Coast, the pair assures us no other venue would suffice. “It was the one and only venue we went to and fell in love with it. It was exactly what we were looking for and was the perfect day,” explains Alana, who wore a Jennifer Gifford Designs gown and veil and Samantha Wills accessories.
Helping to create their fun and seamless vibe, this couple skipped out on the DIY bandwagon and left things to the professionals instead. LoveBird Weddings, Mondo Floral Designs and Florido Weddings were amongst Alana and Chris’s top-knot vendor list, of which they tell us were all pretty damn fantastic.
One of the most standout moments from the day, we hear, were the bride and groom’s vows which they wrote themselves – a requirement put forward by celebrant Jarrad Bayliss. “This was a really special touch and something we weren’t so keen on at first but we are so glad we did in the end,” Alana tells us. “Our celebrant really got to know us so by the time the wedding rolled around, we felt like old friends. He really knew how to excite the crowd and everyone felt involved. We thought this was really different as a lot of ceremonies can be ordinary and mundane. Everyone was on a high.”
