We love a good escape story from a wedding. No friends, not that kind. But the kind where the lovely couple remember to take a moment from the madness, and soak it all up. Jess says, “at one stage Adam and I snuck away and went wandering through the gardens and lay on the grass away from all the crazy, looking up at the stars enjoying a moment of peace and quiet, just with each other. Of all the craziness of the day this is the main thing I remember and look most fondly upon.”
With the wind well and truly in their hair and the bride with a mouthful of veil, Adam and Jess held their ceremony in a spot chosen for two very special previous occasions. Having spent years as best buds, the duo had a rather awkward moment there; “a few years earlier when we were just best friends we had an uncomfortable moment up here where we were eating pizza and watching an electrical storm and I cuddled up to him. He freaked out.” It later became the spot that Adam proposed to a resounding hell yes (somewhat interspersed with a range of excited swearing).
When it came to the wedding day, the pair had aimed to use as many local vendors as humanly possible, and couldn’t have been more pleased with the crew they procured. So dedicated to the cause, they went so far as to completely rearrange their wedding dates to accommodate a date when their talented photographer, Mr Edwards, was free. Jess says, “Honestly I was so happy with everyone that worked on my wedding. Adam said to me when we got there how proud he was that I had done such a good job, but really it wasn’t me that made it happen but all the people involved.”
