We always get a little excited when Tricia King’s name pops up in our inbox. Why? Well not only is she a damn fine wedding photographer, who is the master of capturing a beautifully random moment, but she is quite possibly one of the loveliest souls we have ever had the pleasure of working with.
We pride ourselves on not only recommending talented vendors to our readers, but super nice humans too, and Tricia, who shoots under the moniker The Itchy Eyes, is both of these things in spades!
Recently she shot the Brisbane wedding of Cat and David. These two crazy cats make up the bride and groom portion of what is quite possibly the cutest bridal party we ever did see… think short retro dresses (for Cat AND her bridesmaids, homemade by Cats mumma) complete with ribbons, yes, ribbons, tied in neat little bows no less, in their hair, and super sweet bow ties and dashing ASOS tweed jackets for the gents!
So many of the details were handmade by Cat, David and their band of merry helpers, otherwise known as family and friends. Cat made the awesome cake topper, pictured below, which has to be one of our faves to date, and trust us, we’ve seen A LOT of cake toppers in our time!
Photographer Tricia tells us “their reception was at a historic hall – it had never been used as a venue before – what they did with that hall was amazing. Cat is very artistic but I don’t think anyone expected the level of detail which she went to. There were audible gasps when guests walked into the venue and saw the succulents in tea cups, vintage salt and pepper shakers, hand pressed name tags and so forth. It wasn’t a styled wedding with a stylist who worked with their vision – it was them op shopping every weekend and hand sewing and folding and giving 110% effort in every way.”
