There’s nothing better than a good ol’ shindig in a backyard, complete with bunting hanging from a hills hoist clothesline, to celebrate the marriage of two lovely individuals. Shot by one of our favourites, CJ Williams, these images are the pinnacle of what a bit of DIY can achieve.
After meeting each other online, it only took Adam 11 months to propose to Christine with her Great Aunt’s engagement ring, a detail she found very special. Christine tells us, “My great Aunt left me her engagement and wedding band when she died several years ago. I did not expect at the time that it would one day be my engegment ring. It has huge sentimental value and a lot of the theme for the wedding came from Aunty Joan and her ring.”
Running with a vintage and bird theme, this beautiful couple created a celebration filled with lace, candles and crystal vases; much of which was borrowed from relatives or collected at swap meets. When asked about their DIY efforts the couple says, “We wanted to create an intimate and relaxed evening, and think we did that with the mix of live music, lighting and handmade touches such as the beautiful carrot cake that our friend Emily made.”
